前作「From Whales To Jupiter And Beyond The Stars To Rainbohemia」から約2年後にリリースされた大傑作アルバム。このアルバムによって知名度も上がったと思われる。このころすでに「Hash Smiths」は入手困難な状況だったのを覚えている…。

前作と比べるとダブやレゲエが若干後退し牧歌的なサウンドが多く聴かれる。そのせいもあってかこちらのほうが親しみやすい雰囲気を持っている。夏から秋にかけてMoonflowersのメンバーが南仏で過ごしている姿が想像できる作品。

タイトルナンバーの”Colours and Sounds”は名曲中の名曲。またラストを飾る”The World Most Famous Unknown People”も名曲。21世紀だからこそ聴いてほしい作品だと思う。
