当時の英国の音楽シーンでは特異な存在感を示した作品。これ以前にリリースしたシングルを集めたアルバム「Hash Smiths」があるけどこのアルバムが正式な1stアルバムとなる。

僕にとってこのアルバムは衝撃的でした。ダブやレゲエ、ジャズ的な要素を含んだ楽曲が『この浮遊感はサイケだ！』と思わせるものだった。いままでレゲエやジャズがサイケに結びつくとは考えてもいなかった。その固定概念を壊してくれた傑作。

いま思うとダブはサイケに通じるものがあるんだな、と。そう実感したのは、moonflowersとFishmansですね。あとはAndrew Weatherallかな。
