ブリストルを拠点にしたダブやレゲエなどを織り交ぜたミクスチュアー・バンド。土地柄やほぼ同時期に活動を開始した、Massive AttackやPortisheadなどと比較されることが多い。どちらかというとMassive Attackなどのトリップ・ホップ系よりも日本のFishmansの方が作風・存在感を含めてより近いと思う。
また彼らはヒッピーとしても有名で、南仏（だったけかな？）で自給自足の生活をしているそうだ。歌詞にもその精神は反映されていて、反戦を掲げ世界平和を祈る内容が多くある。この辺はFishmansとは違うけど…。
一時期、The Moonflowersから派生したプロジェクトが幾つかあったが、それも最近では下降気味。それに合わせるように本家も「Don’t Just Sit There…Fly」をリリースしてからは、目立った活動予定がないそうだ。21世紀だからこそ彼らに活躍してほしいのに…。
